Join Not Just Dance for the Summer Musical Cabaret. In this fun-filled week, students will work on songs where the characters have been miscast. They will learn music, staging and characterization. Possible songs include I Enjoy Being a Girl, Luck Be a Lady, Agony, Mr. Cellophane, Bring Him Home, etc. Students will have an opportunity to sing songs they would never sing in a show because, well, they are just not the right “type” for the part, if you get our drift. Be sure to register soon. We expect this camp to fill quickly.
All those who register will pick their top 3 songs that they are interested in doing, from a list of choices. They can pick solos, duets or group numbers. See below for the working list of songs. Students will be assigned songs ahead of time so they can begin practicing at home. In addition, all students will have the option of having a one hour lesson (or two – 1/2 hour lessons) with the music director. The Not Just Dance staff will work with parents/students to arrange these in the April/May time frame. Lessons may include other campers, depending on which songs students are working on.
